Bus ban turmoil in New Delhi
More than 6,000 buses, half of New Delhi's municipal fleet, were off the streets yesterday, banned because they had missed a court deadline for conversion from diesel to cleaner compressed natural gas.The rest were stuck in traffic jams as many of the city's 13 million citizens queued in vain. The police were ready for violent outbreaks.
