No, because "whinge" and "whine" sound different and mean different things.BTW, "whinge" rhymes with "hinge".

OK; when I first saw it, I thought it would be pronounced that way, but for some reason I came to think that it was just an alternate spelling for "whine." Hmmm.Re:Spelling

To whinge is a long term thing. To whine is short term. At least that's how I would differentiate.
