Dear Log,
I walked to the haircuttery the other day for a little snipsnip buzzbuzz. Me and the barber (a ~65ish man with a working-class Southern accent) ended up chatting a bit about online book sites, because we both occasionally poke around for kinds of used books that most others consider worthless -- in my case, old "drafting" texts, and in his case, old books about guns -- makes and models and whatnot.
I told him about the glory that is ABEbooks, of course, and its happy search systems.
He mentioned to me that sometimes when he emails or phones in queries to bookstores, asking about this or that gun book, they often simply refuse to process queries for gun books. He shrugged and said "it's no big deal, they're just politically correct, that's all".
What an odd turn of phrase.
