Dear Log,
«This year's biopic-with-a-chance-of-glory is, of course, A Beautiful Mind, starring Russell Crowe and made by Universal, which seems to have all the necessary redemptive ingredients to win the nod from the soft-hearted end of the academy. [...] The story [in the Drudge Report] suggested that some aspects of the heroic schizophrenic mathematician portrayed by Crowe - his separation from his wife, his [bi-] sexuality - had been ignored by the movie.»
My prediction for 2004: an Alan Turing biopic starring Antonio Banderas as Turing, and co-starring Erykah Badu as his Nazi-fightin' sidekick and love interest Adele Goldberg -- with the incidental(ly lethal) detail of him being gay safely removed, to avoid any trouble at the box office. And adding some speedboat chases should make for a "a stronger cinematic experience", to re-use the wonderful nonsense-term that Drudge quoted.
