Good cop / Bad cop 2

Dear Log,

The "Good Cop / Bad Cop" act continues, somehow with each cop more inarticulate than the other.

Today's development: The Good Cop (Chris Patten, EU minister for foreign affairs) complains that Bush-2's positions on terrorism are "unilateralist" and "simplistic". This is as opposed to any substantive criticism, like "He's doing the wrong thing, as I will now explain in detail...".

It all has a certain kabuki quality to it. It's hard to tell if it's inane because it's all part of the (mind-numbing) act, or because everyone involved really is as dim as they look.
