I had no idea Wells wrote anything of the sort!
His reputation is so much simpler here in the US, where he's thought of as just that nice man who builded that time machine to defeat the Martians and then writed those two movies about it.

But if you read his Shape of Things to Come (which, as far as I can tell has been out of print in the US since the 1930s! -- but look in abebooks.com), you see that he had some pretty complex ideas.

And the Bison series has brought back a few of his books to print like The last war. A chilling read, especially now.
