I think I have finally found a group that might be as idiotic as the US music industry: the Pakistani government!
Although whereas the US music industry is awful but in full contact with reality, I do suspect the Pakistani government's idiocy is based on some kind of delusional. Some say that the delusion is basically the aggrandizement of their religion; but I think that they are merely stuck in some kind of D&D game, and that today, their D30 happened to tell them that Rapelady is going to use her +4 Boots of Escaping. That linked-to story also gets +4 feudalism points for containing the phrase "elders from a rival caste".
