Dear Log,
It's quiet here in Ketchikan, and the cloud cover has broken, making everything sunny and chilly. The seven hours of daylight go by really quickly, and I find it very easy to spend a lot of it working on the big tape-to-CD job I'm doing for the Haida language archives -- lots of loafing about waiting for tapes to finish playing into the audio server.
I went thru the oldest of my old CPAN modules the other day and re-disted the ones that were created with the crusty old tar under AIX that liked to create bizarro-world archives that Tar::Archive doesn't like. In the process, I modernized some things, like putting the pm files under lib/Whatever, and turning the ancient test.pl's into t/whatever.t's. It was a perfect combination of mindless and productive.
I like naps. I can do without the earthquake flashbacks, though!
