Dear Log,
I love letters to the editor. They are
- delightfully
histrionic
- "The smoking ban and the 2 percent liquor tax increase are not the path to prohibition: These laws are prohibition itself!"
- or church-addled
- "I trust a president that trusts God more than he trusts himself.
Abstinence is reasonable and should be taught.
Abortion is murder. Better my son die in Iraq than be butchered in the womb at the direction of his mother."
- or jackasanine
- "This goes out to all of the Bush haters. Keep your anti-Bush comments to yourself. I bet Osama and his boys are loving you people. Dyle, I am all for the freedom of speech, except for you and others like you."
- or occasionally ironizing in vain
- "The real candidates for Alaska's open Senate seat should be left to their issue-oriented, high-minded campaigning without interference from the likes of Mr. Christensen."
I hope for a letter to the editor that is all of these! One day. One day.
