Dear Log,
What brought this font thing on is that as I was walking to the store the other day, I came up with the idea that "in the future, people will be about as likely to pay for music as they are now to pay for their fonts!".
And then I thought, wait, do other people pay for fonts? Sometimes? Never? Anyway, now I know.
Anyway, my simile doesn't exactly work well -- millions of people don't exactly say "I just saw the best sans font the other day!!!".
But I do think there's a wee bit of irony in the fact that the US is all gung-ho for DRM on software, and hell, even on genes; but that the US is one of the countries that doesn't allow patenting typefaces.
