Small factual inaccuracy

The Berlin Wall fell in 1989, not 1988 as the obit states. Apart from that, it's spot on. :-)

Well, Reagan wasn't president in 1989, so if it fell in 1989 he couldn't have been the one to knock it down. Obviously your memory is what's inaccurate.
Wait, maybe it was during the first 20 days of 1989, just before the inauguration of Bush the Elder. That could work.
We have always been at war with East Asia.
Popularity

If you look at election figures -- electoral college or the so-called "popular vote" -- Reagan was pretty damned popular: moreso than any other President in the 20th century, apart from FDR. And that's a much better metric than approval ratings, which, aside from being unreliable from a data standpoint, don't even speak to popularity, specifically.
What is popularity? I could well end up on the negative side of Bush's approval rating on a given week, but I still plan to vote for him, and I like him well enough.
