Laurie Anderson Overdrive.

Dear Log,

With the help of Genericus, I did it! I took the main riff (mp3, 57KB) from my favorite Laurie Anderson song, "Dr. Miller" (from United States Live), and made it into a ringtone!

(Here's a MIDI file of what it sounds like, courtesy of this converter

It's not polyphonic -- a polyphonic version is left to someone with a better ear than I. And with a cellphone. (Also left as an exercise to the weirdoes out there is making a looping ringtone out of Laurie Anderson's "hunh" that's the main sample in "Oh Superman".

Polyphony

Near as I could tell, any perceived polyphony in there is just a function of the synthesizer tibre - most likely the part is played as I transcribed it (though she may be doubling it an octave up). Beyond that was just the drum part.
