I don't think the buildings are quite as ugly as the author implies. But of course, anything that's been abandoned for more than a decade is going to fall into disrepair.
The complex sits on prime real estate in Northeast Philadelphia. Even with the all the asbestos and decay and such I'm surprised it hasn't been sold and redeveloped yet.
