Easy Origami CD Cases
Instructions in gif or pdf.
For the tricky steps 2-3, instead of approximating 3/5ths of a pagewidth, just fold to the diameter of a CD plus maybe half a cm for slack. (Origami purists never use external guides; that's why the guy who thought up that design doesn't do the "obvious" thing of using a CD as the guide for the case that will hold it.)
This seems to work for A4 paper too.
Resist the temptation to use thick paper. It won't hold the creases.
3D Markers
Using "3D markers" to good effect. I wrote about this before.
Silent Ringers
My phone never rings. Ever. How do I know if someone is calling? Because I have silent ringers! For $9 you get one that just plugs into the phone, and when the phone rings, it flutters a little light. You just tape the unit to the side of your monitor or something.
For $15 you get a thing that plugs into the phone jack, and into an electrical outlet, and into which you plug a lamp. Phone rings, lamp flickers.
But just plugging in some 60 watt table lamp would lack, how you say, funk. So instead I plugged in some Christmas lights and put 'em around the living room. And HOOBOY, when someone calls, it's a FESTIVAL!
