Here is today's fun fact from the Internet, which I present here in the form of artily minimalist blank verse:
Israel
is smaller
than Belize.
I can see my family's home cities from here!

1948 Israel, though, is easily larger than Belize today.
I find it interesting that the comparative areas ("slightly smaller than New Jersey" for Israel and "slightly smaller than Massachusets" for Belize) still make me think of Israel as larger. Am I wrong about these states? Is Rhode Island not actually shown at 1:1 scale on a map?
