Back at work... urgh.
I spent about an hour last night playing with Templates and Style Sheets to make the Navigation part of MyOwnHomeMadeCMSThatWorksExactlyHowIWant look okay. I also started on the back end, very rough but you always through away the first version and making mistakes is part of the learning process.
I am rolling out two ASP CMS at work this week and find the problems in these (both in the platform and the way the company does things) inspire me to work on my own CMS that does things how I think they should.
so far I have a Page class, a navigation class, a user class, a database library and the beginnings of a Form class. How all these will hang together I am not sure yet but building a simple site will make it a lot clearer.
oh well back to banging my head against the shite that is ASP/VBScript ( writing this journal while the w2k/IIS webserver reboots, because something isn't working and rebooting is the MS/Company way of solving problems )
