dmoz out of date and out of control

I used to use dmoz when it was a fresh young site with people who cared and even submitted entries.

Unfortunately since then a lot has changed - we have http://www.corruptdmozeditor.com/ which even if taken with some salt is entirely believable given the experience of anybody submitting a site they care about to the directory, especially considering the petty beaurocracy involved behind http://downlode.org/log/2005-08-17/Kicked_out_of_ODP and http://resource-zone.com/forum/showthread.php?p=194937#post194937

How lame are these guys? I'd really like to see something replace dmoz as right now it is out of date and out of control with large sections unmaintained, editors unresponsive and petty beaurocracy that would make the civil servents in Yes, Minister envious.

(t)Wiki It...

Maybe a wiki type of thing is in order? Publicly editable...

The fact that Google uses it to calculate page rank definitely gives it a lot of power.

Peace,
