I have been giving serious thought to ordering the dr Dobbs Journal CD, but it looks like it will cost be 150 dollars after being charged 42 dollars for delivering it (50% of the cost of the CD !!!).
Why do cmp or whoever owns ddj use such an expensive way to send a small and light package - its not like europe has no roads or postal systems - the worlds largest logistics company is based in the UK for gods sake (Excel Logistics, I worked at the head office on my university placement).
DDJ can go jump, if they think I'll shell out 150 monopoly notes on a CD - I already have several years hardcopy.
O Reilly at least have CD's I can buy down the road at pcbookshop in london.
Looks like I'll have to wait a long time before I can afford to buy the DDJ archive.
oh well, back to getting Apache Def Guide I guess.
