Maybe it's just some of them, but maybe they're giving the decent ones a bad name. I've pretty much given up on any hope of getting any useful communication going between the academic computer scientists and language implementors as a result of the LL1 conference, and for the reasons I anticipated - smug superiority on the part of the academics.
Since this particular language implementor has more important things to do than argue over qualifications and pull rank, I decided to put my effort into working on my book instead.
I should really call it Tim's book, since he's written the vast majority of it. But then, I've had other things on my mind. I got some work done today, although not as much as I'd have liked. Isn't that always the way?
