Palm Heaven

My trusty Palm Vx is on its way to Palm Heaven. The Calendar button has come unstuck and slipped under the cover, and I can't seem to push, prod, nudge, or bang it back to where it belongs.

This probably means its time for a new one. Fry's had a nice looking Clie for $200. The Palm Tungsten T3 and Zire 72. The T3 has a bigger screen, is faster, and has more memory (but an add-on MMC deals with that cheaply.) But, it also eats battery.

I'm leaning towards the 72. Any thoughts?

T2

I'm conditionally happy with my T2, which has the same form factor (when closed) as the V, but is thicker. I'd be unconditionally happy had I not had to send it in for repairs (faulty screen), and then back in for repairs when Palm sent back a refurb with a bad battery. The eventual replacement works fine.

I just snagged one off of ubid.com and it should be here today. They are kind of pricey even at $400 on ubid (about $500 retail).

However, the Zire 72 does look nice.

Tungsten E

The Tungsten E seems to be pretty good value if you don't need bluetooth or wifi.
