You could put things like

• Conferences
• Major news stories (ponie, etc)
• Guru talks
• Releases
• CPAN growth and major new CPAN modules
• Applications ported, Converts, Success stories, etc

in it.

Total lack of free time - I have 1 new CPAN module and 3 CPAN updates to finish and upload as well as an article I am working through.
