I ordered a Canon i950
Photo Printer today. I have a few days to change my mind.

I have the previous 9xx model and I'm very happy with it. I don't know how well the photo printing works from Linux though.
Be sure to buy the Canon Photo Paper Pro. Viridiana really likes the "Canon Matte Photo Paper" for reasonably nice quality but no glossy look. The best part is that the matte paper is pretty cheap at 50 sheets for $9 or so.
Be prepared to buy lots of ink. However, when it thinks it's running out of ink (in particular the blank ink for text) you can usually just pop it in and out and it'll go for quite a while longer.

I have the Canon S820 Photo Printer. I like it. It prints color documents on paper OK, B&W documents OK, color photos very nicely. I use the Photo Paper Pro too, all other papers come out like crap.
I've not yet replace the ink (I don't use it a lot, but the two main photo ink cartridges are due for replacement soon); that's a good tip to know. :-)
Works great using Printer Sharing with Mac OS X.
