Why should it be faked ? There were colour photographies during the XIXth century but IIRC taken by superposing different filtered images. The wikipedia has an article about the
Autochrome Lumière. I worked for years at a few hundred meters away from the location where the first movie was shot (now a museum) and I remember having already seen some of the photographs you linked to.
