I flooded the hard drive with doing a select distinct... on a table with over 100,000 records and exceeded the disk quota (HUGE file!). The quota didn't reset after it failed, so I logon as root and execute:
/sbin/quotacheck -a
That rescans the HD & adjusts the latest quota value, which helped.
