Countdown - 11 days

Nothing much to say, really. I have one last method to finish refactoring and then I can move on to the credit card process. Current test count: 648 tests.

And I've just been informed that the register is up and running. Time to see what we've really got.

I wish there were more weblogs like this around.

I've really enjoyed the stream-of-consciousness day-by-day account of how you've tackled this project.

Sounds like you guys did a very good job. I think your approach of testing all the components separately has shown a good understanding of how to go about this sort of thing. Others might have just picked up some body of code and tried to make it fit, testing after integration, and complained about it being a POS (not Point Of Sale) when it didn't go well.

A real success story for Open Source, too.

When you're done, you might consider submitting your story to that O'Reilly to where they display Perl Success Stories.

Thanks for the nice comments. Of course, when we're done, I may very well be looking for a "Perl Failure Stories" link :)

Right now, we're getting bogged down by the astonishing lack of documentation for the MainStreet Credit Verification Engine.
