UniData Jobs

Right before I left on holiday, a recruiter called and asked if I was interested in a UniData job. I said 'no' out of reflex because I'm quite happy with my job. Then I started to think about what I was offered.

UniData? OK, I worked on that many years ago, but seriously, UniData? It's a multi-value database system (MV). I used to think they were cool but I was wrong. I am sure that I never want to work on another one. Please, no more MV job offers, thank you.

Isn't PostgreSQL a multi-value database?

I'm thinking of the array support. If it isn't a multi-value database, it wouldn't take much to make it one.

That said, not many people actually use that feature...

I know there is (or was) an open-source project to use this feature to create an MV database with PG, but I'm not sure if it went anywhere.

Arrays in Postgres? I do

Actually, it's quite useful in a few places.
