Yeah, I hate this guy. He really, really sucks. I hate him because he's smarter than me (er, "smarter than I"), funnier than me (er, you know) and has a brilliant metaphor to perfectly illustrate what's wrong with Java. In fact, the only saving grace I can find is that his metaphor is so brilliant, I can see many folks not reading all of it or understanding it.
At the very least, you must read up until the nursery rhyme. Trust me. (and I found that blog entry from this "Joel on Software" post.)
