For three days now, between 6 and 7 in the evening, my DSL modem starts resetting itself constantly, effectively kicking me off the 'net. This lasts for several hours and by morning, it's fine. What the hell?

Any chance that your heater is kicking on during those hours and blowing hot air onto the modem? I had a heat problem with mine that got solved by moving it out from under my desk and setting it up on its side so that it could get better heat dissipation.
