Fluxbox results (screenshot)

About a year and a half ago, I posted a link to a screenshot of my desktop. I think it's time for another one. This one is the result of my playing around with Fluxbox. Unlike the previous screenshot, this one is a heck of a lot prettier in real life than in the screenshot. JPEGs aren't great for rendering color.

I hear a number of people I respect telling me that I should check out the XFCE desktop, so perhaps I'll get bored and go play over there for a while.

Wow!

You're listening to The Violent Femmes! Is there a story behind an obscure(ish) New Zealand band from nearly 20 years ago making it into your playlist?

Damn. Blast from the past. The Violent Femmes were excellent! Where the heck are my records:-)

I can't speak for others, but here in the Portland Goth/Industrial community, the Violent Femmes are quite popular. I never knew they were obscure.

Oops what an idiot

I confused two different bands who were both in my music collection in the 80s - The Violent Femmes and The Verlaines. The former being from Milwaukee and the latter being from Dunedin (NZ). I shall now retreat to a warm dark place and weather the storm of public humiliation :-)

Scrolling through the golden oldies ...

For a really minimalist but interesting window manager, try wmx. It's the most minimal WM I've found that still supports multiple virtual desktops. I find it charming in its own bizarre manner.
