Last night I was awaken by what I thought was someone stomping through the house with large boots on and banging into the walls. Somehow this was causing my bed to shake.
For once it was not my wife killing spiders ;-)
We got hit by an earthquake last night. Apparently it hit 4.8 on the richter scale, although we're quite a distance from the epicenter.
I've never experienced an earthquake before. I mean, you just tend not to get them in the UK much. So when I woke up I convinced myself it was just one of the dogs scratching himself while leaning against one of the doors. They do this from time to time and it does make a lot of noise, but tends not to cause the bed to shake...
Certainly an interesting experience. At least now I know what a 1000 ton bomb hitting Birmingham would feel like. :-/
