Disposable printers

The colour toners (all three) just ran out in my HP Laserjet 2550, so I went looking for cheap refills. The cheapest I could find (for all three colours) was $222.

Future Shop had a brand new (refurbished) colour laser (network too) for $200. And being network it meant I could get rid of the laptop on my desk serving only as a print server.

Although the new printer comes with only 1/3 full toner cartridges, I figure it'll take me a year to use those up anyway. Plus this printer is much quieter than the HP beast. I figure I might even save enough in electricity over a year (with no print server) to pay for refills :-)

Color Laser?

You're so fancy. :-P

I have an HP LaserJet 6P at home that I bought in 1996 because I needed to print my first resume out of college.

It's still cranking away in the wifes office. ! toner refill about5 years ago. :-)

Yup. I actually went for colour because last time I printed out a word document with highlighting (in yellow) you couldn't see the shade it picked in B&W. Though it's also nice for printing out presentations and diagrams.
