The first in the San Francisco series. What an amazing city - I hardly
got any time to explore but what I did see was fascinating. The
architecture was just stunning. So nice to see a US city where all the
houses don't look alike.

If you like San Francisco, you should see Seattle. I remember staying in a residential neighborhood there, and no two houses looked alike
on the same block. For example, there was an alpine chalet next to ranch, next to a colonial duplex. It gave the feeling that people were moving to the city from all over, and each knew how to build one kind of house, so they built the kind of house they had "back home".
Oh, and if you do make it to the residential parts of Seattle, go hunting for the troll under the bridge. It's near the RedHook brewpub (or was, when last I visited).
