Trip 1 to Canada on the 9th December is to take Merlyn over (and no I don't mean Randal). He has to go into 45 day in-house quarantine. So he'll be staying with the in-laws temporarily until his quarantine period is over.
This trip is required because Air Canada will take the bird in the cabin, but not the other pets in the hold. Whereas British Airways will take the pets in the hold, but not the bird. Ugh. So rather than paying someone like AirPets ã3000 to ship everyone, we're doing two trips - once with just the bird (me only. A flying trip, no pun intended) and our "final" trip in January with 3 cats and 2 dogs. The dogs require the travel "Giant" sized kennels, so that should be fun.
This is complicated by the fact that I probably now have to "Land" on the 9th - i.e. claim my landed immigrant status. So I have to do that, and get Merlyn checked for whatever they check him for. They're probably going to look at me very suspiciously to be landing and returning to the UK just 2 days later.
