We saw Saturn tonight. We're not real proper astronomers, just stargazers, so when something like Saturn comes around it's a real treat (and a real surprise). Seeing the rings around it is quite amazing, and something I hope to never forget. We also think we could see the moons going around it, creating shadows across the surface.
Amazing.

I've been looking forward to using my telescope again this summer... but now I am moving, and to Washington, where it is quite often cloudy. Yuck. But at least the place we are moving to should have little light pollution, and I can also use the telescope in the daytime to view the mountains in front of the house ...
