All applications...

Someone once said that all applications will expand until they can send email...

Recently Adobe released Acrobat Reader 5.1. It can, of course, send email.

Am I wrong to be worried about the security implications of this? At least Microsoft Outlook pops up a dialog box when its scripted to send email saying someone is trying to send email via a script. Does Acrobat Reader do the same, or is this yet another way for virus writers to easily send email without popping up that dialog box...

Update: On second thoughts, its not much of an issue. Most viruses these days use their own SMTP engine (so that they can send basically anonymously).
