Well, I went to the Boston.pm meeting last night to hear Damian speak on perl 6. (What the heck, I figure I ought to get at least some detail on what I'm supposed to be getting implemented... :) It was definitely an experience, and I'm glad I went. Ended up with the following conclusions:
- Perl 6 is going to be even keener than I thought it was (and I'd figured on it being really keen)
- My internals slides for TPC5.0 are really pathetic looking and need beefing up.
- Damian's goal in life is to make the optimizer's life difficult
- I'm definitely going to take up the offer of asylum from Aruba.pm once this thing's all over...
If you've never seen Damian in concert,
go! It's well worth it. Especially if you're going to end up implementing what he's talking about. :)
