Well, I got a very basic version of Device::QuickCam working (unless the perl modules mailing list forces me to change the name... it'll still work tho). It came to me while I was reading that copy of EEP I finally got for X-Mas. Now, the current version does require some dirty hacking of the cqcam lib but I'm sure I'll find a way around that.
