Free WiFi

Belgian McDonalds restaurants have WiFi access for paying customers. They provide this service through a solution set up by one of the bigger ISPs in Belgium (in a previous life, I once crawled up on the attic of one of those restaurants to fix some cables for the AP). It just so happens that the AP has a quite common backdoor: UDP is unfiltered. When I used my PDA, Skype popped up and started connecting. I guess I'll be using NSTX any time soon now :)

ouch.

We USians are barbarians... Even Starbucks, the McDonalds of overpriced coffee, charges for WiFi here. Seriously, folks, it's $40/mo for DSL, and $100 or so for a base station. In return, people stay in your establishment for hours, BUYIN UR STUFF!
