Last week, halfway through some coding I was doing, the update dialog on my Dapper Drake popped up notifying me of an available update. Without much thought I clicked update and let it install the new kernel packages. It didn't occur to me that a kernel update might screw up my Grub config (since I'm using Windows as a primary operating system). Windows booted fine but Grub kept spitting out all kinds of errors and I couldn't find a way to fix it. I ended up reinstalling Dapper from scratch (unlike the upgrade from Badger I did before). Now Grub is installed on my primary partition and I have to use it to switch to my boot.ini menu... *ARGH* I hate temporary fixes!
