3 movie reviews for the price of one. I picked up cheap DVDs last weekend.
- Lord of war: Nicholas Cage tells his tale as an arms dealer from the 80s til now. It's funny at moments (but it makes you wonder weither war and arms are something to be funny about).
There is a lesson in there somewhere.. but I guess it only applies if you actually own a gun
- The interpreter: Nicole Kidman works as an interpreter at the UN.. blah blah etc. In short: uhm I didn't really fancy it. The story is a bit thin and predictable. Yes, Nicole Kidman has the lead role but that doesn't guarantee a good flick. I'm glad I didn't waste money on seeing this in the theaters (plus, the DVD was pretty cheap).
- Danny The Dog (apparently released as 'Unleashed' although the menu itself still states 'Danny The Dog'): Jet Li as a brainwashed fighting machine that does his tricks when his collar is removed. Fighting sequences are impressive but that's about the only reason to see this movie. Again, story is a bit thin, I now know why this one was in the bargain bin.
