I had a first interview yesterday at a local IT shop. They mostly provide SLA management services and tools. They were basically looking for a technical consultant willing to get tons of certificates and travel abroad. The fact that I had both 31337 perl skillz and that I had experience in teaching and talking was a good thing, and my LPI cert shows I wanted to learn and grow. I'll get a second interview. I might have to brush up on my linux h4x0r skillz because some techie will probably interrogate me.
