If you have Firefox in your X init script, make sure you don't stick it in an infinite loop, if you do, make sure not to pass an URL as a parameter.. if you do, make sure it doesn't contain an &, if you do, make sure you quote the URL or you'll end up with an infinite number of firefox instances..WHIII

a young luser we had at the university where i studied.
He had just discovered 'fork' (or its equivalent on a Univac 1108) and in his youthfull glee made a program that did a fork and exec'ed an instance of itself in each process.

They had to boot the machine, with all its 5-600 users to turn it off. After it came online he did it again, just to see if that really was the cause.

Mightily unpopular he was...
