Whenever an HP LJ500 is giving you a hard time, bang it hard with a large stick. Another approved way is to turn it off, press the large green button, power it back on while holding the button for (5..10) seconds. After it cycles through all lights (this may take a while), a test print page may come out.. and one more.. and one more.. and one more.. At this point, you can safely press the red/orange/pink button and it should stop printing at some point.
