I recently spent some time on a Captcha implementation for one of our internet projects. ImageMagick is a beast but it worked for me this time.

Keep in mind that a Captcha solution may violate the A.D.A., so you have to have a backup solution for people to register who can't see the images.

We use it on Slashdot for some things, and our solution is to email us if you have trouble.

Actually, I built in a magic value that will always work. And it's not 594e5230483053334d this time...
