I went to see Girl with a pearl earring, which is about the painting by Johan Vermeer of a girl with a pearl earring.
Johan Vermeer was a dutch painter but it's an english movie (with the lovely Scarlett Johansson).. so the pronounciation of Griet sounds like greet and not with a softer G.
Anyway, I added this one to my favorite movies list.
