To put this in context: I was not personally there to see any of the recent kerfuffle that preceeded the closing of the Class::DBI mailinglist. I don’t know what happened and who is in the right.
All I saw was bewilderment and/or headshaking at Tony’s reaction. I don’t know what blame there is to place with him. The jury is out on this and most likely will remain out on this, as I have no interest in researching matters further than accidentally seeing tidbits about it as people feel compelled to pass judgement in public venues.
So when I saw Sebastien’s (apparently selective) account of the events, I initially took it at face value. That is, until I came upon this:
From: sri@oook.de
To: tony@tmtm.com
Seems the stories i heard from some (former) coworkers of you are true, no wonder you got not many friends in #perl.

Now Tony may or may not be equally at fault. The one thing I know, though, is that I have seen enough in my time on the ’net to know that an utterance such as the above is an infallible criterion for plonking the speaker.
that would be me...
Although... taken out of context in this instance. Tony can be a rather hot-headed individual and can be stubborn about trivially small things. I believe this is what sri was referring to.
