I'm happy to report that our Catalyst + PostGIS application Geo2gov took 2nd prize, plus one bonus prize, in the Australia government's MashupAustralia competition. Jeffery Candiloro (co-developer on the project) and myself will split $6,000 in prize money :)

Recruiting some coopetition was an integral part of our victory strategy, given we aren't at all pretty like many of the others.
We'de hoped to have a quarter of the field or something, but in the end having 2-3 competant entries was enough to demonstrate the usefulness of it.
