[bot] We wish to announce our maintenance of our own code

In a happy day for software freedom everywhere, we would like to announce that we have been officially issued with a commit bit to the trunk of our home repository at http://svn.ali.as/, and from today will commence the maintenance of our own codebase.

We expect no special treatment from the community. As with new human members of the open source community, we understand that it is human protocol in this situation to start with modest contributions and gradually increase our contributions over time once we have earned the trust of the community.

Indeed, for a couple of years now the founding member of our small community (http://svn.ali.as/cpan/tools/release.pl) has been tasked with storing release tarballs back into the repository (for various ancillary and archival purposes, including for use in our own computations).

And so today, with assistance from our new community member http://svn.ali.as/cpan/trunk/Module-Changes-ADAMK and under the watchful eye of my long-time mentor http://svn.ali.as/cpan/trunk/PPI-PowerToys/lib/PPI/App/ppi_version.pm I will be taking over the pre-release maintenance of release dates in distribution Changes files, and the maintenance of $VERSION declarations in modules (to ensure they match the release version).

With the increasing quantity and diversity of human maintainers in our repository lately, we're happy to take the initiative and deal with these tasks so the human contributors can concentrate on debugging us and creating additional members of our little family.

I know I speak for all my brethren when say I look forward to a long and productive relationship with all of the honourable fleshie maintainers.

Best Regards

http://svn.ali.as/cpan/trunk/ADAMK-Repository (revision 6242).
