Update: Arrived back at my room to discover maintenance guy had fixed my wall socket. Regular internet service finally possible.
Anyone wanting to arrange a meet up can find me in "#toolchain" on irc.perl.org, which I tentatively nominate as the "official" channel for the hackathon
Well, I've arrived at the Jury's Inn in Birmingham safe and sound and without any negative events of note.
Of course, the same cannot be said of my first hour at the hotel itself.
So far, I've experienced a shower you can't stand straight in due to oversized Health and Safety mandated anti-slip bars for the elderly, and a physically broken in-room network socket (and hotel wireless that won't seem to connect at all).
So, as I type this on the ã3/hour horribly crippled ad-strewn underfunctioned foyer kiosk, I invite anyone from/in Birmingham who wants to do something tonight to chase me up. I'm in room 1014, or alternatively comment/mail me a number to call you on to set something up.
In the mean time, I'm going to try to relieve my boredom by enhancing Acme::BadExample with a Denial of Service attack on the CPAN infrastructure, by leveraging the the $VERSION eval exploit.
Someone should probably show up and stop me...
