Years ago, annoyed by the stupidity of viewcvs, I created my first popular application cvsmonitor.
Instead of a stupid browse list, it had a (relatively) gorgeous code growth graph, listed the developers and showed you the most recent changes, reverse engineering changesets out of the CVS data.
Sadly, because I figured nobody would want to pay for it and only had limited free time to write open source stuff, I ultimately ended up neglecting it and the difficulty of moving to svn ultimately ended up killing it.
While in it's prime though, a team of Java coders cloned it (or rediscovered the idea) and then later sold it (grrrr...) to Atlassian. Granted, it's an awesome Sydney-based company that hosts Sydney Linux Users Group, but still...
In the last year or so, I've finally come to terms with my issues of someone else "taking my idea" and doing it better. (It's hard to both feel annoyed and promote Strawberry Perl without feeling like a hypocrit)
So today, I've added a FishEye instance (free courtesy of Atlassian) to The Open Repository.
You can now see all kinds of useless stuff about the repository! Yay!
Sadly, FishEye does not implement karma tracking :(
